Genre: Descriptive Writing
Grade Level: 1st
Objectives: 1.) Still will be able to compare the characteristics of two different objects (in as much detail as possible.) 2.) Students will be able to write two different sentences about each object based on brainstorm.
Instructional Steps:
-Show the two objects to the class
-Explain what a characteristic is and have them brainstorm different characteristics of the objects
-The teacher can make a ven diagram and the class will fill it out together as she takes volunteers' answers
-The teacher gives an example of how she would make a characteristic into a proper sentence
-Teacher passes out paper and has students write two sentences based on any characteristics that they choose
-Students can share with the class what they wrote
